However, as we sat on our porch listening to the birds and the trickling water in the river, we had second thoughts and wondered if we shouldn't hang on just a little longer.
We were happy to hear a few things happened while we were gone even though we thought there was a complete pause in work. Chad worked with Mike and got a board up with meters ready to hook up our electricity. It was a good thing we came home a day early as Bob was there when the electrical inspector turned up and Bob was able to get the paper work for us to turn in for a work order with Consumers. We felt like Friday was kind of a bonus day and everything we accomplished got us a little ahead.
Bob continued work finishing the insulation and ceiling as he turns the old garage into his future workshop.
It was so hot and humid that Bob came home dripping wet after working. It will surely help when we leave the 90 degree weather, pick up some breezes and move back into the low 80s. When??!!
I continued packing and making my unending lists. I need my lists to stay focused with all of the interruptions. However, Barney and I take breaks to head down to the new house and see how things are coming. I actually got to walk around in our new basement which seems huge and echos when we talk.
And, I couldn't help myself setting up some little bird houses on our big stump. I'm going to have fun with that stump as a place to put plants or maybe as an outside pub table.
Tomorrow should be a big day with several materials and the trusses being delivered. Mary and Jan are coming over to help me pack the kitchen. That room intimidates me and I can use the help.
Here we go full speed again.
Yes! SO glad you guys were able to go North for a bit (great pic of the shoreline & the walleye/pike). Excited to see what happens over the next week or so until we come over (to the east side of Lake Michigan).
ReplyDeletePub table is definately the go!!!
