We've Got Doors

A few materials came Monday, but seemingly true to construction form, the trusses weren't delivered until late in the day and garage doors didn't come till Tuesday when I thought they couldn't deliver. There was still plenty to do and it was good to see progress.

Jan and Mary came over to help me tackle the kitchen. We worked fast and if it was in sight, it got packed. We made a huge dent and it got me into a routine. Packing the kitchen is hard as we still have to live and needed to keep some things out to do some minor cooking.

In the evening, we went over for yummy strawberry cake for Chad's birthday. While there, Emily suggested packing everything in the kitchen and using our travel trailer supplies for every day living now. I had all of those utensils, pots and pans in a tub in the back room. They needed to be washed and ready for our move into our trailer anyway and might as well use them now and get everything else packed. That advice was a boost and Tuesday morning I began packing up the rest of the kitchen with renewed energy and my box mountains grew!

In the evening, we drove over so I could see the progress. The trusses were stacked on the ground, Mike had done a lot more smoothing of the grounds, and the doors, though not quite finished are in place. It looked great and real.

Happy Very Hot and Humid Fourth of July! It will be a working holiday for us. I went through each room with a pad of paper and a pencil and made more lists of what needed to be done to finish. I thought I was doing pretty darn good until this little activity which was a big reality slap. We have much still to do and time is growing short with Moving Day scheduled for July 10!
We are so fortunate to have air conditioning and will use this time to pack pack pack!
